Retaining Your Truck Mechanics & Fleet Technicians

There’s been much talk about the trucking industry’s shortage of drivers and what to do about it. Like driver shortages, mechanic and technician shortages can affect the transport of goods. But not having enough mechanics and technicians also impacts longevity of equipment and … (read more)

At first glance, one might wonder if this 53’ semi-trailer wrap is sponsored by Rural King, Redbrand Fencing, or the FFA. Why the Trucking Industry Will Finish Strong in 2013

Leading indicators in the trucking industry continue to show slow, but steady growth. In the long run, slow and steady is a better indicator than sudden fleeting meteoric gains. When my Uncle Paul farmed, he much preferred a “soaker rain” — a steady, long day of rain, versus a quick cloudburst. Even if both gave the same amount of rain, … (read more)
What To Do About The Truck Driver Shortage

Why is the trucking industry in America woefully short of drivers? Is CSA Scoring Fair to the Trucking Industry?

Since 2010, the trucking industry has generally supported the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) programs, but it may be time to question the credibility of some of their data gathering methods.
