A Brief Trucking Industry Review for 2012

A Brief Trucking Industry Review for 2012

The last few years have seen many challenges and changes in the trucking industry. New regulations, fluctuating fuel prices, and a volatile economy have all impacted logistics. There will always be difficulties to face, but the light is brighter at the end of this tunnel. 2012 was an overall good year for much of the industry, and things are looking great for (read more)

The Best Darn Marketing Event in Indy

TKO Graphix was thrilled to be an affiliate sponsor for the 2012 MBO (Masters of Business Online) Conference held last November. The event was attended by the TKO marketing staff — Nancy Jarial, Josh Humble, Kristi Came, and I. We hoped to gather ideas applicable to our marketing strategies, learn something new, and be inspired — we weren’t disappointed. (read more)

Leaders Know When to Let Go

Leaders Know When to Let Go
I’m a control freak, and it seems both my adult daughters are, as well… wonder where they got that? I remember an awards banquet I coordinated several years ago. I had my three ring binder with every activity listed and planned down to the minute, from who would present each award, for how long, and what the band would play (read more)

Salvation Army WISH Tree Toy Drive 2012

This Christmas, we were privileged to participated in the Salvation Army WISH Tree Toy Drive for the third consecutive year. The Christmas initiative targets people who are often missed by other holiday programs – working parents who are facing difficulties. To qualify, parents must be working or attending school. Last year, the Salvation Army helped nearly 9,000 children in the Indianapolis area. (read more)

How To Choose a Sign Shop

How To Choose a Sign Shop
In business, as in life, bad choices haunt us all, and the fear of making the wrong decision can paralyze us into no decision. Regardless of what we do — how much we research, analyze, and prepare — some mistakes will be made. However, by taking precautions when choosing a service provider, in this case a sign shop, disappointments can (read more)

Wrapping Watchfire’s Demonstration Vehicle

In this video, I interviewed Tim Fausel from Watchfire Signs. Tim was working on his laptop in the TKO Graphix break room as he waited on his vehicle. I asked him a few questions about his vehicle, the wrap, and his company. Our installation crew was completing a full wrap on Tim’s new Ford F350. It’s what he (read more)

FAQ: What Kind of Exterior Sign Do I Need?

FAQ: What Kind of Exterior Sign Do I Need?

If you have a brick and mortar business, you probably have exterior signage, but is it what you need? I asked Lee Faulkner, TKO Signs manager, how to determine what’s the best exterior sign for any business.

What are the local ordinances? This is the place to start. Permits and ordinances will limit some possibilities. For example, it’s not uncommon … (read more)

Be a Partner, Not a Salesperson

Be a Partner, Not a Salesperson

I’ve been involved in sales since 1970, and I’ve witnessed an evolution, which is becoming a revolution. My first formal sales training was how to convince others to buy, how to use words and demonstrations to evoke emotions — to get a “yes.” There was little or nothing about fulfilling customer needs, listening to prospect’s wants, or doing what was (read more)

Featuring the Plainfield Fire Department Ambulance

Plainfield Fire Protection Emergency Rescue Vehicle
Besides this being an excellent example of the work we do with municipalities (and a fine photo from Josh Humble), there’s another reason for sharing this photo today. Our public servants do a lot of good work — and not just what’s expected of them. Yes, they serve and protect, and often risk themselves for us, but they do so (read more)
