This video shows the Red Gold wayfinder dimensional sign being produced from start to finish. The sign will be placed at Red Gold’s corporate headquarters. The cabinet was fabricated from flat sheets of aluminum, bent, shaped, welded, sanded, and painted. Meanwhile, decals were being produced on TKO Graphix digital printers. After the paint had cured, the first layer of decals were attached directly to the cabinet. Other decals were secured to PVC, which was router cut to exact specifications. The PVC was attached to the cabinet over the first layer, giving the sign true dimension.
Dimensional signs are best used in areas of high visibility. A dimensional sign placed hundreds of yards away, such as a freeway sign, probably will not be appreciated. When corporate signs, retail monument signs, and wayfinders are produced as a dimensional sign, they add a whole new… dimension.
